Established in 2009, Freeside Atlanta is a 501(c)3 non-profit makerspace built entirely by volunteers. As a community, we have built out our space with tools and equipment for electronics, 3D printing, woodworking, metalworking, art, design, classes, and events. Everything you see in our space was donated or built by Freesiders. Our members engage in amazing projects and love to share their knowledge. We develop and work with open source / free technology wherever possible, and release project creations under variants of the Creative Commons license. Also, you don't have to be a member to come to our events or take a class!
Due to COVID-19, we're doing what we can to keep our members safe. As we are a volunteer effort and due to the nature of the workshop, we can't sanitize most surfaces within the space but do recommend wearing a mask and washing your hands often. While we can't remove the risk, we can reduce it together.
UPDATE: Due to the recent sharp rise in cases of COVID-19, we're currently requiring mask usage at Freeside. Thanks for your understanding!
